We currently participate in the Active After-school Communties (AASC) Program with assistance from the Australian Sports Commission to promote healthy living in children. We have named it 3P which stands for ‘Participates, Plays Fair and Personal Best’. It is held on 2 or 3 afternoons a week and we encourage all children to participate for one hour.
WOOSH Care has a Homework Help session which is supervised by a teacher from Woodport Public School. It is held for one hour once a week, and is available to all children who attend WOOSH Care. There is a cost of $3.00 per attendance.
To join the 9+ Club children must be 9 years of age or older. This Club was designed especially for the older children who get bored in after school services. It gives the older children something interesting and challenging to do. The aim of the 9+ Club is to increase the interest, responsibility and independence of the older children, whilst helping them to develop skills such as leadership, initiative, decision making, planning and accomplishing long-term projects. Some of the additional activities that 9+ Club children may take part in are excursions and fundraising.
